What’s true now?
Create possibility from here.
I'm Amy BeberVanzo
My processes work to uncover unconscious conditioned behavior and mistaken belief. This opens space for new choices and effective action.
What connects the pieces of my work are Somatics and Proprioception.
Somatics is the understanding that the human body and mind exist as a unified Self, not just a brain carried by a body.
Proprioception is the Self's ability to feel its own position in space, its internal sensations, and the efforts of movement.
In Somatic Coaching, we know that people do not change by merely thinking about it; they change by engaging in new practices that supplant old habits.
In the Feldenkrais Method, we know that we can change the way we use our Self by feeling how we move, and then exploring other possibilities.
In each discourse, we need to first understand what is true now, and proprioception is our informer.
Knowing where you are in life, you can make informed choices to get where you want to be.
Feeling how you move now, you can choose ways to move more effectively, with less effort.
We are what we practice. Learn to practice something different, and reach your goals.
We are each differently resourced. Please let me know what accommodations you need.

More About Me
I've studied Aikido since 2003, and hold a 2nd degree black belt. I've been a chemist, a machine shop owner, a winning rally driver. I'm a parent to my best teacher ever. I’m a forager of wild foods, an adventurous cook, an open-water swimmer. I use she/they pronouns.
My curiosity knows few bounds.
I hold deep gratitude and respect for Richard Strozzi-Heckler and the late Moshe Feldenkrais for the development of their respective powerful somatic methodologies ... and I thank their students, who are also my teachers, for carrying their work forward.
